Our story
Preloved started in 1998, before ‘second-hand’ was fashionable, with a simple idea: most things people no longer need are exactly what someone nearby is looking for. More than two decades on, that idea hasn’t changed — the site has just kept getting better at making the match.
What we believe
Second-hand is the most sustainable way to shop. Every pram, bike, sofa and guitar that changes hands on Preloved is one less thing manufactured and one less thing in landfill. Buying preloved saves money; selling preloved turns clutter back into cash — and both keep good things in use.
How Preloved works
Listing is free for private sellers and we take no commission — what you agree with the buyer is yours. Buyers browse locally, message sellers directly, then meet to view and collect. We don’t handle payment or delivery; we focus on making the connection safe and simple, from moderated listings to on-site messaging and member verification.
